Zipp 404 Carbon Clincher Road Wheel

Zipp 404 ClincherThe new 404 58mm Firecrest Clinchers look and feel different over its predecessors. They still have that WOW feeling when you are going down the road of “these are quick”, however, there are a number of issues with this model. The biggest has to be the increased price. At around £2,400 they are not cheap and are a sizeable increase in price over previous years 404 models.

Zipp would argue that this is justifiable in the increased technology that you get with this years model resulting in greater stability and speed. Michael Raelert and Yvonne van Vlerken win at Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Wiesbaden

Sunday 15th August saw the Ironman 70.3 European Championships take place in Wiesbaden in Germany. It wasn´t the best day weather wise for the event with cold and foggy conditions throughout the course, however, that did not deter the main contenders such as Russia´s Stanislav Krylov, UK´s Philip Graves, Sweeden´s Bjorn Andersson and Germany´s Michael Raelert and Maik Twelsiek from putting on a very impressive show for the large spectator crowd that had gathered.
